ER20

Emergency Radio ER20

Emergency PLL AM/FM radio with telescopic antenna for better signal reception and memory for 70 preset stations. The unit also has LED 3 modes flashlight and SOS alarm. The device is powered by a built-in 2,000 mAh battery and can be recharged in 3 ways: via a USB-C connection, a solar panel or with a hand-cranked dynamo.

Going on the trip of a lifetime abroad or a picnic under the city? No matter what situation you find yourself in, it is important to have this radio with you.

The ER20 is a small, portable and handy device that has many uses and can be helpful in many different situations. It will be the perfect piece of equipment for expeditions, both to unknown and more obvious places. Whether relaxing by the lake or on a mountain trek, hiking in the woods, camping away from the city or being in the centre of unexpected events, this radio will serve as a medium for receiving radio stations, the latest news, but can also be used as a torch, a reading light or a power bank to charge your smartphone battery.

The ER20 has a dual-band radio tuner with digital PLL synthesis that receives broadcasts in the FM and AM bands. The FM frequency reception range is 87.5 – 108.0 MHz and the AM range is 522 – 1620 kHz. The range can be switched using the ‘mode’ button available on the front panel, while the desired station can be tuned in using the ‘previous’ or ‘next’ buttons on the front of the unit. An automatic radio station programming function is available – simply press the ‘PROG’ button for longer and the unit will scan and program the available radio stations itself. If you want to program the radio stations in your own order you can do this manually. A maximum of 50 radio stations can be stored in the FM range and 20 in the AM range. The current frequency can be checked on the LED display also located on the main panel.

To ensure the best possible reception of the radio signal, a telescopic rotating antenna has been integrated, which can be easily extended and rotated in any direction.

The radio has a clock function with alarm. The alarm clock can be realised by means of a buzzer or by automatically starting a radio station. A SLEEP function, i.e. a timer switch, is also available. You can select the appropriate range of minutes between 15 and 90 minutes, after which the radio will automatically switch off.

The ER20 has the ability to emit a loud SOS alarm signal. This functionality may be applicable when you get lost in the forest and need help. The volume level of the SOS alarm signal emitted is 110 dB. This is a really loud signal that will help locate a lost person and definitely make the job of the relevant emergency services easier.

This radio also has a built-in torch with three light modes. The first mode is for spotlighting and the light beam has a greater range. The second mode offers a more diffuse light with a wider, but slightly shorter, range than the first one. The third mode is a combination of spotlighting and diffuse lighting to achieve the best effect.

In addition to the torch, a reading light, built into the solar panel, is also available. It has twelve brightly shining LEDs and activates automatically when the solar panel is raised.

The ER20 is powered by a built-in 2000 mAh lithium-ion battery and features a triple charging system. On the back of the case, under a silicone cap, a standard socket is available for charging via a USB-C cable. A suitable cable is included, which you can connect, for example, to any smartphone charger or any other power source that offers a charging current of 5 V and 1 A. A full charge can be achieved after approximately 4 – 5 hours.

In emergency situations, where mains power is not available, a further two charging options can be used – via the 68 × 26 mm solar panel, which is built into the top of the housing, or via the built-in cranking alternator.

When charging with the solar panel, a full charge can be achieved after approximately 60 hours of exposure of the radio to full sunlight. However, it is important to ensure that the battery is not completely discharged beforehand.

When crank charging, lighting can be used at the same time with a torch. After about 360 revolutions, the power generated can last for about 30 minutes of using the radio at medium volume or lighting the way with a torch.

Depending on the volume level, a fully charged battery lasts approximately 10 – 15 hours of radio use.

An indicative battery level indicator is available on the LED display so that the battery status can be monitored in real time.

If you find yourself in an emergency and need to recharge your smartphone battery, the ER20 has this capability. Simply plug your phone into the USB port at the back of the case and wait for its battery to take up the energy stored in the battery of this device.

Included with the radio is a USB-C charging cable, wrist strap, user manual and warranty card.
