The Blaupunkt MS49DAB is a micro hi-fi system designed for users who want one versatile device for listening to radio and playing music. Its design is based on proven solutions from the MS40.2BT model, but the system has been enhanced with a DAB+ digital radio and an advanced antenna system that noticeably improves reception quality.
This is a device that doesn’t pretend to be studio-grade audio – it focuses on what really matters in everyday use: stability, functionality, and ease of operation.

DAB+ and FM radio

The built-in DAB+ tuner allows you to receive digital radio stations without the noise and distortion typical of FM broadcasting. The sound is clear and balanced, while the display shows station information and current program details. In practice, this means more comfortable listening, especially in places where the analog signal tends to be unstable.
For those who prefer traditional radio, the system also includes an FM PLL tuner with RDS and memory for 40 stations, allowing both standards to work seamlessly side by side.

External antenna – a small detail that makes a big difference

The MS49DAB comes with a telescopic antenna featuring a magnetic mount — a thoughtful addition. The antenna can be positioned outside the unit, for example near a window, or even placed outdoors on a metal windowsill.
With 360° rotation and a 3-meter cable, you can easily find the best placement for local signal conditions. In practice, this results in noticeably better reception for both DAB+ and FM, especially in apartments with challenging signal situations.

The system delivers 100 W RMS (2 × 50 W), which is perfect for comfortably filling a living room or lounge area with sound. The audio profile can be adjusted to your preference using the equalizer modes – Music, Game, News, and Movie – as well as bass and treble controls, plus the Loudness function for enhanced dynamics at lower volumes.
These options make it suitable for everyday music listening, radio programs, or watching movies.

The MS49DAB can serve as a complete home audio hub. HDMI ARC and optical inputs let you connect your TV, Bluetooth enables wireless music streaming from a smartphone or computer, and the built-in CD player and USB port provide access to physical media and MP3 files. An AUX input and headphone output complete the set of options.
